CARLA, the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition: a new email list, www.carla.umn.eduprovides links to 11 different technology tools that can supplement classroom instruction. Google Educator offers links to Google Search, Earth, Book Search, Maps, Docs and Spreadsheets, Blogger, Sketch Up, Calendar, Picasa, Personalized Homepage, and Google Apps for Education. These applications rely heavily on visuals and can be incorporated into content instruction for ELLs. Within each of these applications, Google provides lesson plan ideas.
